President of the United States, Donald Trump, surprised football fans after praising Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, currently playing for Saudi club Al-Nassr FC, in a video shared on his TikTok account.
In the video, Trump addressed Ronaldo directly, saying: “You are the greatest of all time. We need you in America. Get going now — we need you fast,” a message that sparked wide speculation online.
Some interpreted the remarks as an invitation for Ronaldo to join an American football league, while others believed it referred to participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in the United States.
Trump captioned the clip, “A message from the greatest in history to the other great one,” and accompanied it with an AI-generated video showing the two playing football together inside the Oval Office at the White House.
Ronaldo has been playing for Al-Nassr since signing a landmark contract in 2023 and continues to compete in the Saudi Professional League. Neither the player nor the club has issued an official response to Trump’s message.
