Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, has underscored the importance of fostering international dialogue on family-related matters, commending Türkiye for its active role in this area by hosting the International Family Forum in Istanbul.
In remarks to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday, Minister Al-Huwailah shared insights following her participation in a guided tour of the exhibition titled “All happy families are similar”, which she attended alongside Turkish First Lady Emine Erdoğan and ministers and officials responsible for family affairs from several countries, reports Al-Rai daily.
Dr. Al-Huwailah expressed deep appreciation for the Turkish First Lady’s initiatives, particularly her dedication to promoting family values and reinforcing social cohesion. The exhibition, she noted, presents thought-provoking ideas that emphasize the importance of strong familial bonds and the human connections that bind societies together.
First Lady Emine Erdoğan had earlier highlighted that the exhibition sends a powerful message about the significance of love, commitment, and mutual respect within families — principles that are fundamental to achieving social stability. She remarked that “the International Family Forum reminds us once again of the global power of the family and its unifying role in societies.”
The International Family Forum, which commenced on Thursday in Istanbul, brought together ministers and senior officials from across the globe.
The two-day event, held under the theme “Protecting and Strengthening the Family in a Globalized World,” is part of Türkiye’s “Year of the Family 2025” initiative, launched by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The forum featured a wide range of activities, including dialogue sessions, exhibitions, and collaborative events aimed at sharing successful international models for family protection. Participants explored strategies to elevate the family’s social role and to enhance resilience against modern global challenges.
Dr. Al-Huwailah reiterated Kuwait’s commitment to promoting family welfare and emphasized the importance of continued global cooperation in safeguarding the values that form the cornerstone of stable and cohesive societies.
