For more than three decades, Azayez Farm in Al Abdali area of northern Kuwait has stood as a living symbol of Kuwaiti hospitality and culture. This year, Azayez farm once again opened its doors for its annual diplomatic gathering, welcoming members of diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Kuwait in the presence of Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

The annual event is hosted by former Governor of the Capital, Sheikh Ali Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and has become a well-established February tradition reflecting the authentic spirit of Kuwaiti society. Each year, the gathering brings diplomats and their families together in a warm, informal setting that encourages cultural exchange and genuine connection beyond official protocols.

Azayez gatherings follows a distinctive structure, with dedicated days traditionally held for the ruling family, the Kuwaiti public, and the diplomatic corps. This long-standing tradition now spanning more than 30 years offers diplomats a rare opportunity to experience Kuwaiti culture in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

This year’s event saw the participation of several newly appointed ambassadors and diplomats, many of whom were introduced to Kuwaiti customs for the first time.

Guests explored the natural beauty of the Abdali area, which is particularly admired in February for its pleasant weather and tranquil landscape, making it an ideal setting for social interaction and cultural discovery. The gathering also featured a traditional folkloric music performance and a generous luncheon held in honor of the diplomatic corps, creating a friendly atmosphere that reflected Kuwait’s deeply rooted values of generosity and hospitality.

Held annually in February, the Azayez Farm gathering coincides with Kuwait’s National and Liberation Day celebrations, reinforcing national values inherited from past generations. Hospitality remains at the heart of Kuwaiti identity; an ethos clearly reflected in the spirit and organization of the event.

Commenting on the occasion, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Kuwait H.E. Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, praised the initiative saying that “This is truly a remarkable day. Through such gatherings, diplomats have the opportunity to witness the greatness of the Kuwaiti people and the beauty of their culture.

“We are grateful for this annual invitation, which allows us to experience Kuwaiti society up close, beyond protocol and formality. We extend our sincere thanks to Sheikh Ali Jaber Al Sabah for bringing the diplomatic corps together every year in this special place, and we wish the State of Kuwait, its leadership, and people continued prosperity,” he added.

As the annual gathering continues to grow, Azayez Farm remains a powerful example of how tradition, hospitality, and cultural diplomacy intersect, presenting Kuwait not only as a host nation, but as a society deeply rooted in generosity, coexistence, and meaningful engagement with the world.
