General Traffic Department reopens some King Fahd Road lanes, closes others for 15 days

Asphalt maintenance triggers new closures; new traffic changes take effect from Friday, Nov 6

The Ministry of Public Works (MPW), in coordination with the General Traffic Department, will introduce new traffic arrangements on King Fahd Road (Road 40) from Friday night, November 6, as part of major asphalt maintenance works scheduled to last 15 days.

Under the new arrangements, the slow lane, slow-middle lane and right shoulder will reopen to traffic. The exit from the Second Ring Road onto King Fahd Road will also be reopened, along with the entrance from King Fahd Road to the Third Ring Road towards the south and the entrance and exit serving the Nuzha area.

At the same time, motorists will face closures on another section of King Fahd Road, where the slow lane, slow-middle lane, half of the middle lane and the shoulder will be closed. The exit from the Third Ring Road onto King Fahd Road will also be shut during the maintenance period.

The ministry urged motorists to exercise caution, follow traffic signs and comply with the designated diversions to ensure smooth traffic movement and public safety while the maintenance work is under way.
