The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) strongly condemned Iran’s recent attacks targeting vital infrastructure in Kuwait and Bahrain, describing the strikes as a dangerous escalation that threatens regional stability and international peace.
Speaking on behalf of the Council, Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi denounced the attacks as “heinous” and emphasized that they reflect Iran’s continuing policies that destabilize security across the Gulf region, reports Al-Rai daily.
He stressed that targeting civilian infrastructure and critical facilities is a blatant violation of international norms and conventions, incompatible with the principles of international law and the values of good neighborliness.
Al-Budaiwi warned that such aggression not only endangers the security and stability of GCC countries but also has serious implications for global energy markets, given the strategic importance of the Gulf region.
He called on the international community to take responsibility in halting repeated Iranian attacks and to put an immediate end to these actions that jeopardize regional and global peace and security.
The GCC reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, pledging unwavering support for all measures taken by the two countries to protect their sovereignty, ensure the safety of their citizens, and safeguard their critical infrastructure.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region, as Gulf nations remain vigilant and continue coordination to respond to any threats that may impact security, stability, and energy supplies.
