GCC–EU partnership key to regional security and prosperity, says Ambassador Morini
Italian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Lorenzo Morini reaffirmed his country’s strong support for peace efforts in the Middle East, describing the recent Sharm el-Sheikh Summit as a significant step toward reviving the political process and ending the cycle of violence in the region.
Speaking on the sidelines of Italian Design Week, Morini said Italy is ready to open a new chapter of cooperation by contributing to humanitarian and security efforts, including training Palestinian Authority personnel and aiding in the reconstruction of Gaza.
He emphasized that Rome views this role as part of its moral and political duty to foster stability and development in the Middle East.
He noted that Italy is prepared to offer financial and technical support through its companies specializing in construction, infrastructure, and energy, while leveraging its expertise in crisis management and sustainable development.
The Italian envoy stressed that these goals can only be achieved through collective, multilateral action. He also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union, describing it as essential to regional security and prosperity given their shared interests in energy, trade, and stability across the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean.
