The announcement came at the conclusion of the 29th meeting of the GCC Committee of Ministers of Culture, held in Kuwait on Thursday. The meeting adopted several key outcomes and recommendations aimed at enhancing joint Gulf cultural cooperation, preserving Gulf identity, and strengthening shared values of belonging, reports Al-Rai daily.
Among the most notable decisions were the endorsement of Kuwait’s bid for the UNESCO committee, the adoption of a unified Gulf cultural events calendar for 2026–2028, and the approval of initiatives to support creative cultural industries. The ministers also emphasized greater inclusion of people with disabilities in cultural activities across the Gulf.
Additionally, the committee approved the publication of the third edition of the “Writers’ Guide” and the adoption of new regulations governing joint Gulf cultural events, marking further steps toward deeper cultural integration among GCC member states.
