Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi called on Monday the international community to take serious and tangible steps to halt and condemn the Iranian aggressions and military actions, which have bypassed and dismantled all international treaties, conventions, and UN laws.
This came during his participation in a joint summit via videoconference, as it brought together the European Union (EU), representatives of the leaders of the GCC countries, and the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, to discuss the treacherous Iranian aggressions.
Al-Budaiwi pointed out that the GCC’s participation in this meeting aims to mobilize regional and international efforts to halt and condemn the brutal Iranian attacks on its member states.
He stressed the need to end military actions in the region, which have destabilized security and stability in a grave and unprecedented manner. He further stated that the hand of unjustified, illegal, and immoral Iranian aggression has reached infrastructure, civilian, and oil facilities across the GCC states, resulting in numerous deaths and various injuries among innocent civilians.
The GCC Chief also praised the positions of the European Council and the European Commission in denouncing and condemning the nefarious Iranian attacks on the Council states, as well as their efforts to strengthen regional security and stability. – KUNA
