The body of Nasiruddin, a Pakistani man who went missing in 1997 while crossing a mountain in Kohistan, has been discovered 28 years later when the glacier melted in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He was 31 at the time and had fallen into an ice crevasse following a family dispute.
His remains, preserved in ice along with his ID card, were found on the rapidly melting Lady Meadows Glacier by shepherds on July 31.
Despite multiple search attempts by his family over the years, limited equipment hampered recovery efforts.
Nasiruddin, a married father of two, was finally laid to rest on Wednesday.
