French Commander welcomes Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef’s visit, praises deep bilateral ties

Kuwait’s Interior Minister praises the high level of professionalism, efficiency, and extensive field experience demonstrated by the French National Gendarmerie across various aspects of security operations.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, accompanied by Kuwait’s Ambassador to France H.E. Abdullah Al-Shaheen, visited the Southeastern Region Command of the French National Gendarmerie, as part of his official program to enhance security cooperation between Kuwait and France.

The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef was received upon arrival by Lieutenant General Frédéric Baudrier, Commander of the Southeastern Region of the French National Gendarmerie.

During the visit, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef praised the high level of professionalism, efficiency, and extensive field experience demonstrated by the French National Gendarmerie across various aspects of security operations.

He was briefed on the roles, responsibilities, and operational mechanisms employed by the gendarmerie in confronting modern security challenges. The visit included a comprehensive military parade, featuring riot control maneuvers at the battalion level, supported by armored vehicles, drones, and helicopters used for public order operations.

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef also toured the command and control center, where he was shown a detailed visual presentation outlining the gendarmerie’s security planning and crisis management strategies during major national events.

The presentation, he noted, reflected the high state of readiness and advanced coordination of the French forces.

At the conclusion of the visit, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef expressed his sincere appreciation to the French leadership and personnel for their warm reception, generous hospitality, and dedication to security excellence, wishing the French Republic continued progress, security, and prosperity.

For his part, Lieutenant General Baudrier welcomed the Kuwaiti delegation, affirming that the visit underscores the depth of cooperation and friendship between Kuwait and France, and contributes to enhancing joint efforts in security and law enforcement.
