Freight transport companies’ licenses in danger
The First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, issued a decision to continue suspending the licenses of freight transport companies, but open doors to grant licenses to companies in demand by consumers and logistics service providers.
The decision currently allows freight transport companies to replace old or dilapidated vehicles, in accordance with the General Traffic Department’s rules. Regarding delivery companies, the decision included nine controls that must be met, the most prominent being that the company should own between 5 to 30 light transport vehicles and at least 15 delivery bikes, issue yellow “public” plates and a special “vest” for the driver, in addition to a fluorescent safety helmet for motorbike drivers.
