Former minister to be tried for allegedly submitting forged document

In a development marking the second report within a week, it has been reported that a former minister has been referred to the Ministers’ Court for trial.

The suspect in question faces potential imprisonment over allegations of presenting a falsified document to the judiciary during his tenure as a serving minister. The incident is linked to an investigation into a case concerning public funds, reports Al-Qabas daily.

According to the source, the investigation committee, led by Counselor Dr. Omar Al-Masoud and comprising advisors Saud Al-Sanea and Ahmed Al-Muqlad, summoned the former minister for interrogation. Subsequently, after releasing the man on bail, the committee decided to proceed with trial proceedings.

The source further disclosed that the State Security Service instigated the action against the former minister upon uncovering the forgery within the document submitted to the judiciary.

The source mentioned that two additional reports are pending against other former ministers. These individuals are expected to be summoned in the forthcoming days, facing charges related to the misappropriation of public funds.
