T.K. Haris, a respected former Kuwait based senior expatriate from Kozhikode, passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. Despite being bedridden, he continued to actively share his perspectives on various social issues through new media.
During his expatriate life in Kuwait, T.K. Haris played a crucial role in the formation of the cultural organization ‘Kala Kuwait.’ He was actively involved in promoting cultural publications like ‘Desabhimani Varika’ among expatriates and regularly wrote columns on political analysis.
T.K. Haris, who spent over half a century living abroad, had a deep and precise understanding of West Asian political issues. His writings in the 1980s on topics like the Palestine issue were highly noted. His candid discussions on issues such as the inhumane Israeli occupation and Zionist terrorism, which have devastated entire communities, provided Malayalis with a profound and motivating perspective for their struggles.
Always aligned with the left in cultural activities, T.K. Haris firmly supported the cultural criticism positions raised by M.N. Vijayan in the 1990s.
