Flexible Ramadan working time, 4 hours for women with leave and late benefits
The sources have confirmed to Al-Anba that official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan will be “flexible.”
Furthermore, the sources clarified that the flexible working hours system will be in effect during the holy month of Ramadan in 2025. Official working hours will remain set at 4 and a half hours, but for females who choose to benefit from the two grace periods of up to 15 minutes each—one at the start of the workday and one at the end—working hours will be reduced to 4 hours. Males, on the other hand, will have a 15-minute grace period either at the beginning or end of the workday, but not both.
The sources revealed that the same advantages applied during the previous Ramadan will continue for the year 2024. This includes allowances for minutes of delay and hours of leave.
This confirmation aligns with what was published by Al-Anba on December 22, under the title “5 advantages for employees in the morning period during Ramadan.”
The Diwan had adopted flexible working hours during last Ramadan, allowing employees to attend work within a two-hour flexible window at the beginning of the workday. In 2023, the workday was divided into three time periods, each lasting 4 and a half hours.
