Five lose Kuwaiti citizenship for acquiring foreign nationality

The Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality has issued a decision to revoke the citizenship of five persons. The announcement was published Thursday in the official gazette, Kuwait Alyawm, as an appendix to the latest edition.
The decision is based on Article 11 of Amiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 and its subsequent amendments, which state that Kuwaiti citizenship is revoked from any person who voluntarily acquires a foreign nationality.
This move underscores the government’s continued enforcement of nationality laws and its stance on dual citizenship, which is not permitted under Kuwaiti law.
