Fishing vessels seized for violating regulations by Agriculture Ministry

The Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources, had announced plans for inspection tours during Eid al-Fitr to monitor compliance with fishing regulations.

During recent inspections, several vessels were found using prohibited fishing nets in violation of Resolution 2004/8, which bans certain types of nets and the use of shrimp trawls during the off-season. Authorities noted that some violators attempted to take advantage of poor weather conditions to evade detection.

In a press release, the authority announced the seizure of a warehouse in the Bar Kazma area, which was stocked with prohibited fishing nets prepared for use, along with several boats. Legal action was taken, and violation reports were issued in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and Kuwait Municipality.
