Final drafts of media and sports laws ready: Al-Mutairi
Modern legislation to match a fast-changing era

Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said the final draft of the media regulation law has been completed in coordination with the Fatwa and Legislation Department.\
He emphasized that the law represents a practical translation of the Ministry’s strategy to modernize the media system and build a contemporary media landscape.
In his statement, Al-Mutairi explained that the law was developed through a participatory approach involving relevant authorities to ensure it aligns with constitutional and legal principles, reports Al-Rai daily.
He added, the law also meets the demands of the next stage, which calls for a flexible legislative framework capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in both local and global media.
He further disclosed that the final version of the new sports law has also been completed, following coordination with the Fatwa and Legislation Authority and approval by relevant international and local bodies.
Both legislative initiatives, he noted, form part of Kuwait’s ongoing efforts to create a progressive legal environment that supports the country’s vision for media development and youth empowerment.
