Father confesses to killing eight-month-old daughter
Reason unknown, incident shocks neighborhood
The security authorities are investigating the death of an eight-month-old baby girl allegedly at the hands of her father.
According to Al-Rai daily the incident which happened in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, has shocked the neighborhood.
The security sources said after the police received a report from a local hospital that the father had walked into the facility carrying in his hands his dead daughter, the case was referred to the Forensics Medicine Department and the report did not rule out foul play, raising doubts of serious criminal suspicions.
When cross questioned by investigators, the father confessed to fatally assaulting the infant, although he did not provide any explanation for his actions.
The Public Prosecution has been notified, and the father has been taken into custody pending further investigation.
