Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Tajikistan H.E. Dr. Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda held a farewell reception for ambassadors of Japan, Cuba and Togo on the occasion of the completion of their tenure in Kuwait.
Ambassador Zubaydzoda praised efforts by the ambassadors to further relations between their respective countries and Kuwait. He also lauded the cooperation and support they extended to the diplomatic corps during their tenure in Kuwait.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Cuba H. E. José Luis Noriega Sánchez, said: “Beautiful bonds of brotherhood and friendship were formed with Kuwaiti colleagues, and ambassadors from other countries, with whom we worked diligently for a year.” He further expressed pride in learning about Kuwait’s rich culture through personal connections and visits, and discovering the deep love for Cuba in Kuwaiti society.
He said he was overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude that words alone cannot fully express. “I leave with unforgettable memories of Kuwait, a humble and generous country that holds a special place in the hearts of those who know it, especially those who have had the privilege of living here for several years,” said Ambassador Sánchez.
For his part, Ambassador of Togo, H.E. Mohamed Said Ouro-Sama, stated: “Togo and Kuwait are keen to continue our efforts to promote peace, strengthen our regional and international institutions, and actively contribute to resolving the crises affecting some of our nations.” He further added that diplomats must harness assets, amplify African voices globally, and defend common interests with unity and strength.
“It is with great honor and gratitude that I address you as my tenure as Ambassador of Togo and Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps comes to a close.
“Serving alongside all of you for several years has been a privilege, and I leave this position with deep respect for our collective work and admiration for your unwavering commitment,” the ambassador said.
Ambassador of Japan H.E. Morina Yasunari also expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of Kuwait for their continued support and cooperation. He thanked his fellow diplomats for their friendship and cooperation during his tenure in Kuwait.
