FAIPS students lead the way in British Council’s ‘Your World Video’ competition

Students from FAIPS – DPS, Cambridge Wing, were recently honored at an award ceremony hosted by the British Council Kuwait at SIS, Jleeb Al Shuyoukh, for their exceptional achievements in the Your World Video Competition and English Literature Week.
FAIPS emerged as the National Winner of the Your World Video Competition, triumphing over several participating schools across Kuwait.
Organized annually by the British Council, this global contest invites students to collaborate creatively by producing a three-minute video based on a given theme. This year’s theme, “Skills for Sustainability – Equipping All Youth for the Future,” encouraged participants to reflect on how young people can contribute to a more sustainable world.
The winning team — comprising IGCSE Year 3 and Year 2 students Syeda Saleha, Neha Sujith, Amina Shajal, Aiman Rafiq, and Matylda Sobocinska — was celebrated for their compelling and insightful video that addressed sustainability and youth empowerment. Each team member was awarded a KD 50 Xcite voucher, along with certificates and a school trophy presented by the British Council.
FAIPS students also made their mark during English Literature Week. The IGCSE Year 1 team — Radhika Srinivasan, Samaa Ashraf, and Lojain Adel — secured first place in the Role Play competition, while Ms. Dahlia Zaman from IGCSE Year 2 earned second place in the Poetry Recitation competition.
Ms. Suchitra Sen, Head of Exams and Business Development at British Council Kuwait, presented awards to all winners and their mentors. In her address, she emphasized the importance of initiatives that allow students to connect, express themselves, and collaborate meaningfully.
She also encouraged schools affiliated with the British Council to share best practices through mutual visits and engagement.
Mr. Ravi Ayanoli, Principal of FAIPS, expressed his gratitude to the British Council Kuwait for organizing such impactful programs. “This year’s focus on sustainability was both timely and inspiring,” he noted.
The event was a proud celebration of student excellence, creativity, and global awareness—reinforcing FAIPS’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, forward-thinking learners.
