FAIPS-DPS sets the stage for International Yoga Day 2025

In anticipation of the International Day of Yoga, observed annually on June 21, FAIPS-DPS, under the guidance of the Embassy of India in Kuwait, organized a vibrant Yoga Day Curtain Raiser on May 27, 2025, at the school’s auditorium.
International Yoga Day highlights the profound physical, mental, and spiritual benefits that yoga offers to individuals across the globe.
The curtain raiser was held with great enthusiasm, aiming to promote awareness of yoga’s importance among CBSE school students in Kuwait. Students from ten Indian schools across the country joined FAIPS-DPS in this collective celebration of health and wellness.
The event commenced with a warm welcome and opening address by the school Principal Ravi Ayanoli, who underscored yoga’s holistic contributions to physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional well-being. He encouraged students to make yoga a part of their daily lives for a balanced and healthier lifestyle.
The program featured an insightful introductory session by Roopesh R. Pillai, followed by dynamic yoga demonstrations led by Ajay Bhobria and a team of four expert demonstrators appointed by the Indian Embassy.
The participants engaged in a focused 20-minute session that included foundational asanas like Tadasana, Vrikshasana, and Garudasana, along with simple breathing techniques.
The emphasis was placed on proper posture, controlled breathing, and mindfulness throughout the session.
The Yoga Day Curtain Raiser proved to be an enlightening and invigorating experience, leaving both students and teachers inspired and energized. The event successfully set a positive tone for the grand celebration of International Yoga Day on June 21.
The program concluded with heartfelt thanks to the Embassy of India in Kuwait, with special appreciation to His Excellency Dr Adarsh Swaika, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, for his support and encouragement.
The gratitude was also extended to the principals of the participating schools for facilitating their students’ involvement in this meaningful initiative.
