Failaka to turn into an entertainment & tourist destination

A government source revealed that several development projects are being implemented and accelerated in the country, most notably the project to transform Failaka Island into an entertainment and tourist destination, in addition to working towards the Mubarak Port project, along with other housing and electrical projects in cooperation with China.

The source said that a Chinese delegation will visit the country shortly to discuss several memoranda of cooperation between the two countries and to discuss recommendations for deciding on the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project and joint work in developing the electrical energy system, renewable energy, free and economic zones, and housing development projects.

The Chinese delegation’s visit to the country will include discussing and studying the plans for Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port and reaching a consensus between Kuwait and China to implement the project.

On another note, the source stressed the government’s keenness to implement entertainment projects, most notably transforming Failaka Island into an attraction that people from Kuwait and overseas can look forward to, providing open spaces and a series of touristic activities. A comprehensive survey of the island was conducted, and encroachments on it were removed in preparation for approving the start of the project
