Fahd Al-Yousef vows crackdown on traffic violations for road safety

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior directed the implementation of comprehensive traffic preparations with utmost care and precision to ensure the safety of road users

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef made a field visit to the central control room and operations room of the General Traffic Department in the South Sabahiya region.

He was received by the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Traffic and Operations Affairs, Major General Yousef Hamdan Al-Khadda, and several traffic leaders.

He received a briefing on the central control system, traffic light monitoring through the central control room, surveillance camera-based traffic monitoring system, and traffic counting system for road and intersection traffic volume.

Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef also reviewed the process of receiving traffic complaints via the traffic complaints phone, along with the mechanism for handling them, as well as the deployment of traffic patrols on various roads and their response to reports.

He directed the implementation of comprehensive traffic preparations with utmost care and precision to ensure the safety of road users. This includes widespread deployment of traffic patrols on all main and secondary roads and intersections to apprehend violators of traffic rules and laws, reduce traffic congestion, evaluate traffic conditions at different times, and promptly address traffic congestion. This also involves directing traffic and dealing with any obstacles or traffic jams.
