Fact-finding panel formed to investigate power unit outages
The committee will probe disruptions at Doha East and Subiya power plants, determining whether they were caused by employee negligence or factors beyond the staff’s control.

Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Abdul Mohsen Al-Mukhaizeem, Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Finance, and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, has formed a fact-finding committee to investigate recent power plant outages, Al Rai newspaper reported.
The committee, headed by Mohammed Bushehri, former Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, will examine the reasons behind the outages at the Doha East and Subiya power plants. It is tasked with determining whether the disruptions were caused by employee negligence or by factors beyond their control.
The committee is also responsible for proposing immediate, practical solutions to ensure the safe operation of the units, minimize the risk of future outages, and examine any technical issues referred to it for study.
The decision set the committee’s term at three months from the date of its first meeting and stipulated that, upon completing its work, it would submit a final report to Minister Al-Mukhaizeem, outlining the results of its investigations.
