Experts urge high-quality, affordable housing models as 102,000 Kuwaitis await land

The Public Authority for Housing Welfare is preparing to allocate 5,000 residential plots across Al-Mutlaa, West Doha, and West Saad Al-Abdullah, as part of a broader development plan to address the housing needs of approximately 102,000 citizens.

This move complements the government’s real estate financing initiatives.

Official data shows that 32,303 citizens have already secured building permits in areas such as Mutlaa, South Khaitan, and South Abdullah Al-Mubarak, representing nearly 98% of plot recipients in those zones, reports Al-Rai daily.

Real estate experts emphasized the importance of selecting qualified developers who can deliver spacious, high-quality housing at prices that align with the financial capacities of Kuwaiti families.

They highlighted the need for diverse housing models that reflect long waiting times, growing family sizes, and the preference for multi-floor homes with multiple living units.

The experts recommended that developers finance projects independently or through local banks, ensure swift implementation of infrastructure, and avoid passing rising construction costs onto citizens.

They also stressed the importance of keeping profit margins reasonable to guarantee affordability and sustainability in future housing developments.
