EU High Representative Kallas arrives in Kuwait for key EU-GCC meetings
Visit underscores the European Union’s commitment to deepening political, economic, and security cooperation with the GCC countries

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaya Kallas, arrived in Kuwait on Sunday for a two-day official visit, during which she will take part in several high-level EU–Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) events and meetings.
According to a statement issued by the European Union Embassy in Kuwait, Kallas will attend the second High-Level Forum on Security and Regional Cooperation, which brings together foreign ministers from the EU and GCC member states to discuss ways to strengthen strategic partnerships and address shared challenges.
On Monday, Kallas will participate in the 29th Joint Ministerial Meeting between the EU and the GCC, followed by a joint press conference with Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya and GCC Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi.
During her visit, the EU’s top diplomat will also hold meetings with His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Foreign Minister Al-Yahya. Bilateral discussions are also scheduled with GCC Secretary-General Al-Budaiwi and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.
The statement emphasized that Kallas’s visit underscores the European Union’s commitment to deepening political, economic, and security cooperation with the GCC countries, while highlighting Kuwait’s pivotal role in fostering regional dialogue and building bridges of partnership between the two sides.
