Kuwaiti and foreign employers of Filipino household service workers enrolled in baking scholarships of Masterclass Lifestyles Workshops laud the good quality products brought home after their classes. The ten days baking scholarship program is sponsored by State of Kuwait Lady Eagles Club, Ooredoo and in cooperation with Migrant Workers Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.

Employers and sponsors of Filipino household service workers in Kuwait praised the products hand crafted and made during their one day bread making scholarship program held at the studio of Masterclass Lifestyles Workshops at The Walk Mall in Salmiyah. “My employers had the first taste of the breads I brought home from my class and were amazed with the quality of the breads and the taste.

It was very fulfilling to hear them speak good about the baked goods and asked me if I wanted to pursue the classes” added Mylene, household service workers for 6 years with her employer, Mylene added that she wanted to learn how to bake long back but had no knowledge of where and how. “When the announcement was posted by POT TV Vlog I grabbed the opportunity to attend and learn and I was overwhelmed with the results, I never knew I could do such products with right guidance from the trainers” added Mylene.

Beth, another household worker was requested by her employer to bake same breads the following day after her class and gave them out to friend to try. “I used the dough to create local delicacies like breads and Zaatar and small breads with different toppings, orders from my employers’ friends poured in and probably this is the best achievement” commented Beth.

The baking scholarship has been designed by masterclass Lifestyles Workshops to provide an opportunity for household service workers to learn new skills and acquire knowledge in culinary arts. “The program maybe too short for them but we hope to impart to them the essential techniques and proper allocation of ingredients to create good and quality products” added Mariefe Torio, Chef in Charge of Scholarship program.

Since the start of the program launch a month back, 60 participants have availed the scholarship program and some have pursued the classes and enrolled on regular workshops. The 10 days program is generously sponsored by members of State of Kuwait Lady eagles Club in cooperation with Ooredoo. Graduation and handing of certificates are scheduled after the Holy Month of Ramadan. For more details, they may call: 55650296.
