Employees assigned to overtime work require five fingerprints

The Civil Service Commission has issued a new directive that mandates that any employee performing overtime must prove their arrival and departure via fingerprint scan at the beginning and end of the overtime period — after their normal working hours.
Al-Rai has learned that employees assigned to perform overtime duties will now be required to register five fingerprints per day to accurately document their attendance.
The CSC clarified that relevant departments can monitor compliance through the employee’s fingerprint logs, ensuring transparency and accountability during both regular and overtime hours.
Informed sources explained that the five required daily fingerprints are as follows:
- Fingerprint at the start of the official workday.
- Fingerprint at the end of the regular shift.
- Mid-shift fingerprint to confirm presence during the working day.
- Start of overtime fingerprint after the regular shift ends.
- End of overtime fingerprint to mark the completion of additional work hours.
The move is aimed at reinforcing attendance verification protocols and ensuring accurate compensation for overtime work while maintaining oversight across government departments.
