Emergency police conduct 22,177 operations, arrest 195 wanted persons in one week

Between Sunday, June 1, 2025, and Saturday, June 7, 2025, the General Department of Emergency Police carried out a total of 22,177 security and traffic operations aimed at maintaining public safety and apprehending violators and persons wanted by law.
During this period, according to Annahar daily, 195 wanted persons were arrested for committing various types of offenses, including criminal convictions, reported absconding, and theft. Moreover, 78 people were taken into custody for not holding identification documents.
The authorities also arrested 111 people for staying in the country after expiry of their residence permits and targeted 60 vehicles wanted by the judiciary. Six disputes were resolved, and humanitarian assistance was provided to 572 people.
On the traffic front, rescue police recorded 6,956 violations, including 13 cases of illegal parking in spaces designated for the disabled. Three vehicles were impounded, while 182 traffic accidents were managed and referred to the relevant authorities.
