Emergency police arrest 292 wanted persons; issue over 8,000 traffic violations in a week

The General Department of Emergency Police carried out extensive operations during the week of June 8–14, resulting in the arrest of 292 individuals wanted on various charges, along with the documentation of 8,314 traffic violations, including 19 violations for parking in spaces reserved for individuals with special needs.
According to official statistics released by the department, a total of 2,639 security operations were conducted during the week. These operations led to the arrest of 17 drug users, who were referred to the General Department for Drug Control for further investigation, according to Al-Rai daily.
In addition to law enforcement efforts, the Emergency Police provided humanitarian assistance in 556 cases, demonstrating their continued role in community support. The force also intervened to resolve 10 physical altercations, contributing to maintaining public order.
The security officers also seized 82 vehicles wanted by judiciary were impounded; 80 people were arrested for not carrying IDs; one detained for entering the country illegally and 166 persons were arrested for staying in the country illegally.
These figures highlight the department’s active role in enhancing public safety and enforcing the law across various sectors, from traffic regulation and criminal enforcement to humanitarian support.
