Emergency Medical Department signs protocol with HIS/ASHI
The Emergency Medical Department has entered into a cooperation protocol with the American Emergency Medical Association (NAEMT) and the American Safety and Health Institute (HSI/ASHI) with the aim of aligning with globally recognized medical advancements in training.
The protocol also seeks to accredit the Medical Emergency Training Center at the Ministry of Health in Kuwait as an internationally recognized center, reports Al-Rai daily.

This collaboration, initiated during the “Emergency Medical Services: Reality Challenges and Future Aspirations” conference on Feb 18, which was held under the patronage of Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, will have a significant impact on the overall health system, while the medical emergencies serve as the primary entry point to the Ministry of Health, and making improvements in this area crucial.
Dr. Al-Shatti emphasized that the conference concluded with recommendations to enhance the performance of paramedics and technicians in alignment with international standards. It also advocated for the support of accredited training programs through international institutions to drive transformative changes in the medical system, paving the way for future trends towards achieving international paramedic status.
Furthermore, the conference recommended bolstering security and safety programs as well as crisis and disaster management initiatives. It also proposed accrediting the Emergency Medical Training Center as an internationally recognized center at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the wider Middle East region.
