Egyptian pharmacist sentenced to 15 years, KD 28,000 fine in Kuwait

The pharmacist, working at a government hospital, forged prescriptions to steal muscle growth hormones worth KD 14,000, which he sold to bodybuilders, gym-goers, and athletes.

The Criminal Court dismissed the Egyptian pharmacist for embezzling growth hormone medications and forging prescriptions, fined him double the amount stolen, and ordered his deportation after serving his sentence.

The Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Mutab Al-Ardi, sentenced an Egyptian pharmacist to fifteen years in prison for embezzling growth hormone medications and forging medical prescriptions, reported Arabic daily Al Qabas.

According to investigations, the pharmacist, employed at a government hospital, had been illegally obtaining muscle growth hormone drugs by forging prescriptions in the names of other patients. He then sold the stolen medications to bodybuilders, gym-goers, and athletes. The total value of the seized drugs was estimated at KD 14,000.

The court sentenced the accused to fifteen years in prison with hard labor, dismissed him from his job, fined him KD 28,000—double the amount he had stolen—and ordered his deportation after serving his sentence.
