Effective dissolution of ineffective public benefit associations in Kuwait

The associations that are not active in society and do not seek to achieve the goals for which they were established, will be dissolved by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, today confirmed that “associations that are not active in society and do not seek to achieve the goals for which they were established, are destined for dissolution.” This issue came up during the third meeting between Minister Al-Huwailah and representatives of 54 public benefit associations in the “Al-Mirqab” Hall in the Ministries Complex.

She also stressed the keenness to cooperate seriously with the “public benefit” to overcome obstacles and difficulties that could disrupt the work of the associations. Stressing further she said, “We are scrutinizing the associations’ signing of protocols and agreements with external parties, and prior approvals must be obtained from the relevant authorities before signing to avoid any embarrassment for Kuwait.”

Dr. Amthal also suggested holding a forum that brings together more than one public benefit association under its umbrella, presenting several and diverse topics for discussion to identify ideas that benefit everyone. She called on the relevant associations to “submit a comprehensive study to establish a new astronomical observatory so that we can provide the required support for it.”
