Education Ministry removes committee heads, dismisses monitor over exam violations

The Ministry of Education has cancelled the assignment of two examination committee heads and dismissed a national observer after they were found to have violated approved procedures governing the conduct of twelfth-grade examinations.

The actions come as part of the ministry’s strict enforcement of regulations to safeguard the integrity of exams across the scientific, literary, and religious education streams.

In a statement, the ministry said the two committee heads were referred for investigation due to their failure to comply with official instructions and regulations that govern examination work in all educational districts. Their violations were deemed a clear breach of the rules regulating the performance of duties within examination committees, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry also confirmed the dismissal of a national monitor after it was proven that he failed to carry out his job responsibilities and did not adhere to the duties assigned to him, in contradiction to the requirements of the supervisory role entrusted to him.

It stressed that twelfth-grade examinations are subject to a comprehensive monitoring system, including daily follow-ups, inspection and audit teams affiliated with the Minister of Education’s office, and continuous field visits by senior officials to ensure full compliance with approved procedures.

The Ministry of Education reaffirmed that the law applies to everyone without exception and that there will be zero tolerance for negligence or violations. It warned that any disruption to the examination process will be met with firm legal and administrative action, underscoring its commitment to discipline, transparency, fairness, and the protection of students’ rights.
