Education Ministry receives applications for 2025–2026 teaching positions

With preparations finalized for the 2025–2026 academic year, the Ministry of Education is set to begin accepting applications for new teaching appointments starting today (Sunday).

The recruitment drive will cover 14 educational specialties and is open to Kuwaitis and non-Kuwaitis alike, sources told Al-Jarida daily.

According to informed sources, the announcement — recently approved after amendments reflecting updated staffing needs — will be published via the Ministry’s electronic recruitment portal under the “Local Contracting” section. The campaign aims to fill 746 teaching vacancies across various subjects.

The unified announcement gives priority to Kuwaiti applicants, who must apply through the Civil Service Commission, followed by Gulf nationals, stateless persons (Bedoun), and then expatriates.
Applicants must meet several conditions, including a minimum university grade of “Good”; age limit 45 years maximum and relevant teaching experience in certain subjects.

Required Specializations:

  • For male teachers: Arabic language and music education (restricted to children of Kuwaiti women), and open to all for French, mathematics, science, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
  • For female teachers (children of Kuwaiti women): English, mathematics, computer science, and music.

Physics (female) is open without the restriction of being a child of a Kuwaiti woman.
The Ministry annually reviews and announces its teacher staffing needs, along with required qualifications and application conditions.

Once applications are received, eligible candidates will undergo testing and interviews as part of the selection process.
