Education Ministry launches “In My Library, a Writer” project
This project is the Ministry’s endeavour to enhance cultural and literary awareness among emerging generations, aiming to provide distinguished literary and scientific models for male and female students in different educational arena.
Ahmed Al-Majidi, Director of the Libraries Department in the Educational Development and Activities Sector at the Ministry of Education, announced the launch of the “In My Library, a Writer” project, for the academic year 2024-2025, as part of enhancing cultural and literary awareness among the emerging generations.
The Ministry said in a press statement on Monday that the cultural and educational project aims to provide distinguished literary and scientific models for male and female students in public education schools, religious education, private and special education schools, and kindergartens, in a way that enhances the passion for reading and creativity among the rising new generations.
Furthermore, the Ministry added that writers and specialists will be hosted to communicate directly with learners inside school libraries. Through which, the learners will view a selection of writers’ works and listen to stories and novels, in addition to learning about the history of writing and the importance of libraries in preserving the national heritage.
Importantly, ‘In My Library, a Writer’ project is organized under the supervision of librarians, library guidance, and the project coordinator, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Writers Association, and Kuwaiti Libraries and Information Society.
Noteworthy, the schools wishing to host its activities are nominated in coordination with the project coordinator and library guidance, in the respective educational districts.
