“Education Ministry” highlights about safety of school roofs ahead of monsoon
The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for General Education, Mansour Al-Dhafiri stressed upon all the school principals about the need to ensure cleanliness and safety of surfaces, by preventing them from accumulation of dust and materials that may impede the drainage of rainwater, coinciding with the start of the rainy season for the current year.
In a circular to the directors of educational districts, Al-Dhafiri laid emphasis about the necessity in ensuring cleanliness of rainwater drainage manholes, while stressing the need not to use fire hoses.
On the other hand, Al-Dhafiri issued a circular regarding the plan to disburse petty cash advance, to the science departments for the subject of home economics in the intermediate and secondary stages, indicating that cleaning materials are disbursed through the schools’ budget.
This to be done by taking into account not to overpay for the production of educational tools, pointing out the prohibition of disbursing petty cash advances for internal exhibitions, lesson models and educational workshops.
Al-Dhafiri explained, in his letter sent to the general directors of educational regions and the director of the Department of Religious Education, that the areas of spending petty cash advance, meant for the intermediate stage in the field of food and nutrition, includes food supplies, consumer household items, cleaning materials, and consumer items such as tin, tissues, and paper towels.
Moreover, in the field of textiles and clothing, it includes sewing tools, fabrics, sewing machine maintenance, ironing tools, and accessories. In the field of resource management, it includes office supplies and educational tools. More so, in the field of child rearing and family relations, it includes office and consumer items.
Al-Dhafiri pointed out that the areas of spending the petty cash advance for the secondary stage in the field of human resources management includes; office supplies and educational tools, in addition to home furniture cleaners and flower arrangement tools; and in the field of hospitality and tourism management, it includes tableware, library and educational tools, books and references.
