Education Ministry announces resumption of free summer clubs across schools

The Ministry of Education, through its Educational Development and Activities Sector, has announced the return of school summer clubs during the upcoming break, set to run from July 1 to August 31.
In a statement issued Monday, the ministry said the initiative follows the directives of Education Minister Dr. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, as part of efforts to offer both educational and recreational opportunities that help students make productive use of their summer vacation, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The initiative also aims to foster community participation, sharpen student skills, and provide a safe and stimulating learning environment.
The ministry emphasized that the summer clubs are part of a broader strategic vision focused on maximizing the use of students’ free time in beneficial ways. The plan seeks to build character, instill positive values, and nurture individual talents within a supportive educational setting.
A total of 25 free summer clubs will be opened across various educational districts, offering a wide range of activities. These include sports such as football, basketball, handball, swimming, and bowling, as well as cultural programs like debate clubs.
The initiative also features scientific and technical activities, including robotics, and offers various entertainment programs designed to balance learning with enjoyment.
Registration for the summer clubs is available online through the student’s account on the Ministry’s Teams platform, accessible via its official website. Activities will take place daily in the evening from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., providing flexible participation options to accommodate families’ varying schedules.
Two of the summer clubs will be specifically designated for students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to an inclusive and empowering educational environment tailored to their abilities and development needs.
The program is open to all students enrolled in public schools, from primary to secondary levels, both boys and girls. All activities are supervised by specialists and have been designed to cater to a wide range of student interests. Importantly, the programs are provided at no cost, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to equitable access to education.
The Ministry noted that these summer clubs are an extension of its ongoing educational mission, aiming to promote a culture of lifelong learning and strengthen national identity.
Through these initiatives, students are encouraged to engage with societal values, explore their creativity, and unlock their potential in a dynamic and flexible learning environment.
