Drug control unit seizes 16 kilos of meth

In an ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking, personnel from the Directorate General for Drug Control have seized an unidentified individual residing in the country illegally, for possessing a significant quantity of methamphetamine.

In a coordinated sting operation, the suspect was caught red-handed with approximately 16 kilograms of meth with a street value of over 250,000 Kuwaiti dinars. The individual, who has a criminal record for drug-related offenses, was recently released from the Central Prison, according to security sources.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to possessing the drugs for the purpose of trafficking following which the suspect and the seized substances were referred to the concerned authorities. The Ministry of Interior reiterates its commitment to continuing security operations targeting drug dealers and traffickers to protect society from this dangerous threat.
