‘Drug addict’ in police custody

The Ahmadi security patrols have taken into custody an unidentified man, believed to be in his thirties and with a criminal past for drug abuse.

According to Al-Anba daily, the suspect was arrested in the suburb of West Abdullah Al-Mubarak. He was found under the influence of drugs and in possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and two firearms — a Kalashnikov machine gun and a 9mm pistol and ammunition.

The daily said, during a routine patrol, the officers suspected a speeding vehicle. When ordered to stop, the driver attempted to flee, prompting his arrest.
However, he was chased and forced to pull over.

The suspect has been referred to the General Department for Drug Control for further legal action.
