Drone debris sparks temporary power outages in parts of Kuwait

Six overhead electricity transmission lines in Kuwait were temporarily taken out of service after debris from intercepted drones fell near the lines, causing partial power outages across scattered areas, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy announced.
In an official statement, the ministry spokesperson Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat said emergency teams, working closely with security authorities, responded immediately to assess the damage and perform necessary repairs. Power was restored to affected areas within a short period following safety protocols and technical standards.
Hayat reassured the public that Kuwait’s overall electricity supply remains stable. She confirmed that electricity generation, water desalination, and transmission networks continue to operate efficiently, with 24-hour monitoring to maintain uninterrupted service.
The ministry urged citizens and residents to rely only on official sources for updates and emphasized its commitment to keeping the public informed. The statement concluded with a message praying for the safety and security of Kuwait and its people.
