Drone debris knocks out two southern power lines; electricity grid remains stable

Kuwait power supply secure despite damage to transmission lines

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy confirmed that two overhead power transmission lines in southern Kuwait were taken out of service after debris fell during the interception of several drones.

Official spokesperson Engineer Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat stated that the incident did not cause any power outages.

She explained that electrical loads were immediately redirected through alternative transmission lines in line with the ministry’s approved emergency operational plan, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply and maintaining grid stability, reports Al-Rai daily.

Hayat noted that specialized emergency teams were deployed immediately to the site and are currently assessing the extent of the damage while carrying out necessary repairs according to the highest safety and technical standards.

She emphasized that both electricity and water services remain fully under control, with power generation, water desalination, and transmission systems operating at high efficiency.

Continuous monitoring is being conducted around the clock to safeguard service stability and prevent disruptions.

The ministry urged citizens and residents to rely solely on official sources for accurate information and affirmed its commitment to providing updates as needed.

It also expressed prayers for the continued safety, security, and stability of the country under its wise leadership.
