Debris from a drone intercepted by air defense systems sparked a fire Tuesday in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) in the UAE, authorities confirmed, amid ongoing regional tensions linked to Iran’s retaliation campaign in the Gulf.
In a statement, the Fujairah Media Office said emergency teams in the emirate responded swiftly after falling debris from the intercepted drone ignited a blaze within the oil industry zone.
Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported. The fire was quickly contained, and normal operations in the area have since resumed.
