Dr Al-Huwailah reaffirms support for disability programs during meeting with UN, academic officials

Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, today, reaffirmed her dedication to support initiatives and programs to serve people with disabilities and ensure they have a dignified life.
Her statement came after a meeting with the UN Secretary-General’s Representative and Resident Coordinator in Kuwait, Ghada Al-Taher, and the President of the Kuwait College of Science and Technology, Dr. Khaled Al-Baqeen.
The meeting focused on strengthening joint cooperation and highlighted the ministry’s sponsorship of the upcoming Second International Conference and Forum on Technology for People with Special Needs, reports Al-Rai daily.
Dr. Al-Huwailah also noted that the meeting explored opportunities to enhance coordination among the ministry, the college, and the UN Office in areas of social development and collaborative projects.
The discussions included the potential for participating in side events at the 11th Ministerial Conference of the GCC Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs and Development, to be hosted in Kuwait this September.
