Djibouti’s Ambassador to Kuwait, appointed his country’s Foreign Minister

Djibouti’s Ambassador to Kuwait, H. E. Abdoulkader Houssein Omar, has confirmed his new appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Government Spokesperson, for his country, the Republic of Djibouti, succeeding Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.

Ambassador Omar stated in a phone call with Al-Rai that he will depart Kuwait tonight to return home, and take the constitutional oath, after which he will return to Kuwait to bid farewell to his colleagues.

The President of Djibouti, H. E. Ismail Omar Guelleh, appointed a new government member under Presidential Decree No. 2025-082, issued on April 1, 2025, naming Abdoulkader Houssein Omar as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Government Spokesperson.

The new Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Djibouti was officially appointed in a statement delivered this morning, Tuesday, by the Secretary-General of the Government, Al-Mais Mohamed Abdallah, at the Presidential Palace.
