‘Diverging in Color, United in Source’, a solemn farewell for Class of 2026

The United Indian School (UIS) auditorium became a space of reflection, gratitude and inspiration as students, teachers and parents gathered to bid farewell to the Grade 12 Batch of 2025–26 during a heartfelt farewell and blessing ceremony.
Held under the evocative theme ‘Diverging in color, united in source’, the event celebrated the individuality of each student while honoring the shared values and foundation that unite them as ambassadors of the school.

The ceremony began on a serene note with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Ishan Ahmed Shajahan (XII D), followed by its translation by Henna Sidheek (XII C). The peaceful opening set the tone for the morning’s proceedings.
Mrs. Shanima Hisham, Senior Head of Department for Biology, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while a heartfelt prayer led by Mrs. Anija Rachel Abraham added to the solemn atmosphere.

In his address, the Principal delivered an inspiring message centered on perseverance, responsibility and purpose. He encouraged students to carry the institution’s values as their guiding compass as they prepare for their Board Examinations and future academic and professional journeys.
Nostalgia filled the auditorium during the “Down Memory Lane” segment presented by Ms. Hamida (XII H). Through shared memories and reflections, students revisited milestones that defined their school life—from their early days on campus to their final moments as graduating seniors.

One of the most emotional highlights of the ceremony was the Lighting of the Lamp and Passing of the Torch, led by Senior Vice Principal Mrs. Mary Litty. The symbolic ritual represented the transfer of knowledge and wisdom to the next generation. Accompanied by a blessing song performed by the teacher choir, the moment captured the collective hopes and aspirations of the graduating class.
The ceremony also honored the accomplishments of the outgoing batch through several prestigious awards. The Nalanda Scholarship recognized exceptional academic excellence, while special accolades celebrated achievements in leadership, sports and co-curricular activities.

The coveted Best Outstanding Outgoing Student titles were presented to the toppers of the Science & Mathematics, Science and Commerce streams, acknowledging their dedication and academic distinction.
School Captain Ms. Danah Rachel Sudheer delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to teachers, mentors and parents who guided the students throughout their journey. Each graduate received a personalized souvenir as a token of remembrance, followed by a celebratory lunch that allowed students and faculty to share final moments together.
As the Class of 2026 prepares to step into a new chapter, they depart carrying not only academic knowledge but also the blessings of their teachers and the strength of a shared legacy—ready to embrace the future with confidence and purpose.
