Under the direct supervision of Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, security authorities have dismantled a major diesel smuggling operation at a farm in Abdali — part of intensified efforts to combat crimes that harm the national economy.
The operation was carried out by personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Jahra Governorate, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Hamed Manahi Al-Dawwas.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Interior said, this happened after security agencies received intelligence reports that petroleum products were being concealed on a farm in Abdali following which permission was obtained from the Public Prosecution and the farm was raid, reports Al-Rai daily.
The raid led to the seizure 33 containers filled with diesel, along with special machines and pumps used to extract and refill the fuel.
The operation led to the arrest of nine individuals, including a Kuwaiti citizen suspected of managing the illegal activity. The farm owner was also arrested at the Nuwaiseeb border crossing while attempting to flee the country.
The authorities additionally seized receipts documenting huge foreign money transfers linked to the operation, and all necessary legal procedures have been taken.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to continuing security campaigns to combat smuggling and other violations, urging the public to comply with laws and regulations and to report any suspicious activities that threaten the country’s security and resources.
