Diesel smugglers get jail terms

The Criminal Court of Cassation, presided over by Counselor Sultan Buresli, has found the suspects guilty of smuggling diesel and sentenced them to various jail terms.

The Al-Jarida daily said, the main accused has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with hard labor, while five others face imprisonment ranging from 3 months to 4 years with hard labor.

These convictions are based on charges of forgery and smuggling diesel out of the country.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Court has decided to place an individual accused of advocating harm to the country and insulting the HH the Amir on the social media in a mental health hospital.

This decision comes after the accused engaged in abusive incidents on social media, and the defense argued that he was not legally responsible saying he is mentally unstable.
