Di Maio arrives in Kuwait to bolster strategic ties

The European Union’s Special Representative for the Gulf region, Luigi Di Maio, arrived in Kuwait today as part of his ongoing diplomatic efforts to enhance relations with the region.
This marks Di Maio’s fourth visit to Kuwait since taking on the role in 2023, underscoring the importance the EU places on its partnership with the Gulf states, reports Al-Jarida daily.
His visit comes at a particularly significant time, as Kuwait currently holds the presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the year.
Di Maio’s presence reflects the EU’s support for Kuwait’s regional leadership and its commitment to deepening strategic cooperation with the GCC.
The agenda for this visit is expected to focus on expanding political, economic, and security collaboration between the European Union and Gulf nations, with Kuwait playing a pivotal role in these discussions.
