DGCA chief, Japanese envoy explore cooperation in civil aviation

The Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Sheikh Humoud Al-Sabah, affirmed his aspiration to strengthen cooperation with Japan in various civil aviation domains, including training, air safety and security, and airport infrastructure development.

According to a DGCA press release, the statement came during Sheikh Humoud’s meeting on Sunday with Japanese Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Mukai Kenichiro, to explore avenues of joint collaboration in the aviation sector.

Sheikh Humoud emphasized the depth of the strategic relations between Kuwait and Japan, highlighting Japan’s cutting-edge expertise in aviation technology and infrastructure as a valuable asset for future cooperation.

Ambassador Kenichiro, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, reaffirming Japan’s commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation in civil aviation. He noted that closer coordination would foster the exchange of knowledge and integration in key technical fields of mutual interest.

This meeting reflects ongoing efforts by both nations to expand partnerships in vital sectors and leverage innovation and expertise for enhanced aviation performance and safety.
